IMMERSIVE WORKSHOP

Becoming Together

Stronger teams begin with people who can be themselves — together.

A two-day experiential workshop using embodied awareness, deep listening, creativity and live music to explore how we communicate and contribute — opening the way for greater engagement, collaboration and shared ownership.

Two days · Leadership groups & teams · Ideally 8–20 participants · English or Norwegian

Bringing out the best in one another

A team can be made up of highly capable people and still not make full use of the knowledge, creativity and experience in the room.

Some voices are heard more than others. Good ideas remain unspoken. Differences become difficult rather than useful. Meetings can contain plenty of talking without always creating enough listening.

Under pressure, these patterns often become stronger. We defend our position more quickly, listen less openly, withdraw, accommodate, interrupt — or simply stop contributing what we really think.

The result can affect more than the atmosphere of the team. It can affect communication, focus, decision-making and the ability to develop new ideas.

The effects reach beyond the atmosphere of the team. They can influence communication, focus, decision-making and the ability to develop new ideas.

The question isn't only how well people work. It is how well they are able to work together.

It begins with the person within the team

How we work with others is shaped by what happens within us.

What happens when an idea is challenged? When we don't feel heard? When someone sees things very differently from us? Do we become defensive, withdraw, accommodate, push harder — or stop contributing altogether?

Becoming Together begins by bringing awareness to these responses.

Through breath, embodied awareness, creative exploration, voice and music, participants are invited to notice how they respond, what they need, what they value and how these responses influence the way they communicate and contribute.

This isn't about learning the “right” way to behave in a team. It is about becoming more grounded in who we are — so that we can express our own perspective without needing to defend it, and listen to someone else's without losing our own.

Because the more secure we are in our own voice, the more space there is for other voices too.

From individual contribution to shared ownership

Strong teams need people who are willing to contribute what they see, know and think — and able to listen when others bring something different.

When people feel confident expressing ideas, raising concerns and offering their perspective, more of the knowledge and creativity within the team becomes available. And when people can listen with curiosity rather than simply defend their own position, different perspectives can lead to better conversations, more considered decisions and new possibilities.

This is where communication begins to influence creativity, innovation and performance.

People who feel that their contribution matters are more likely to engage with what the team is trying to achieve — not simply completing their own tasks, but taking greater ownership of the work and its outcomes.

Becoming Together explores how we can remain grounded in our own perspective while making room for others, so that individual strengths become part of a stronger collective.

Because when people can contribute fully and work well together, both the people and the organisation have a greater opportunity to thrive.

Listening differently

Live music runs through Becoming Together — not simply as a performance, but as another way of exploring how we listen, respond and communicate.

Emma draws on her experience as a musician and improviser, inviting participants to notice their own response to what they hear. What draws you in? What disturbs you? What do you notice in your body? What happens when your experience is different from someone else's?

There is no correct response.

By becoming more aware of our own experience — and more confident in expressing it without needing others to agree — we can begin to listen differently too. We can become curious about another person's perspective without immediately defending our own.

This has direct relevance to the workplace: to communication, creative thinking, decision-making and the way different perspectives are heard and valued.

Throughout the two days, live piano, voice and improvisation also offer moments to stop talking, listen and experience — allowing music to open a different kind of attention.

A space to listen. To respond. To discover what becomes possible when different perspectives don't have to compete.

What happens during Becoming Together?

DAY ONE — THE INDIVIDUAL
Awareness · strengths · responses · boundaries · contribution

DAY TWO — THE TEAM
Communication · listening · difference · creativity · collaboration

The workshop moves between individual exploration and shared experience, using breath, embodied awareness, deep listening, creative practices, voice, conversation and live music.

Participants are not asked to learn another model of teamwork or leadership. Instead, they experience and explore their own responses in real time — how they listen, communicate, contribute, react to difference and make space for the perspectives of others.

This is particularly valuable for leadership groups, where complex decisions, differing perspectives and the responsibility of bringing others with you are already part of the work.

Music and creative practices introduce another way of working together: one that can open attention, imagination and expression beyond the usual patterns of workplace conversation.

The intention is to turn greater individual awareness into something practical — clearer communication, more engaged participation, stronger collaboration and greater ownership of what the team is working to achieve together.

What could become possible in your team?

Every team has its own dynamics, strengths and challenges. Becoming Together can be shaped around the people involved and the particular questions your organisation is facing.

Whether you are looking to strengthen a leadership group, support a team through change, deepen communication and collaboration, or create greater engagement and shared ownership, we can begin with a conversation.

Tell us a little about your team, organisation and what you would like to explore.
